Herbal Dye

Im so sorry that i have taken some time before i can actually post something on my blog! I have been struggling with my scalp still but it has gotten much better. I think according to the research that i have made that i am dealing with sebborric dermatitis! At the moment i am still giving myself some time to see if i cannot get some relief from the itching from the herbal oitment that i bought from the earth shop.

My hair was looking dull and looked like it needed some color! I normally dont use regular dye's because they contain ammonia, ppd, parabens and resorcinol and all of that is irritating to my scalp and actually causes more damage than good!! I then went to Mopani Pharmacy and bought the Herbatint Permanent Haircolor Gel! Inside the box you get 1 bottle Herbatint haircolor gel,1 bottle developer,1 sample shampoo, 1 sample conditioner, gloves and instructions!

What i like about the dye is that it is made of natural ingredients like Aloe vera, Meadowfoam, White Birch, cinchona calisaya,Witch hazel, Echinacea, Walnut, and Rhubarb. At least thats for the color that i chose which was Crimson Red (Ff2)! The dye is tested for sensetive skin and doesnt contain Alcohol ammonia, resorcinol or fragrance! Its a little bit liquidy when you apply it, i just wished that i had a bottle with a tip that would control how much of it actually comes out, thats the only negative i had about it. After i apply it to my hair, it was actually soothing to my scalp which was amazing! I never even had an itch or anything close to it!

The color took nicely to the ends of my hair because they were lighter than the rest of the hair. Obviously when i am in the sun i can see the color better throughout the hair. If i want my hair to be a little bit lighter i would opt to go for a lighter color so that the red would be able to show more and i think thats something i would definitely look into doing as the seasons change. I would definitely use this same brand because its gentle on the scalp and it still delivers on the promise of color! I like experimenting with color and making sure that my afro looks fresh and interesting!

Dry, itchy sensitive scalp

Have you ever had an experience where your scalp start to itch, then you scratch and it seems like the more you scratch the more it seems to itch? My scalp has been feeling like that despite the fact that i have been very careful with what i put on my hair. I have been using natural products i mean with my shampoos as well they are natural not containing sulphates and parabens. My conditioners have all been natural ingredients that dont contain all the nasty staff. So i realised that i might not be suffering from a serious case of dandruff but instead it might be a scalp condition like psoriasis, eczema, seborrea etc! So i bought this shampoo and conditiner in the picture from Earthwise (a shop selling organic natural products at the mall) and i realise also that its all natural and doesnt contain the nasties!  Both of the products are so soothing especially when you have been scratching so much, and its conditioning so much that it left my hair nice and soft. The box retails for R289 each and i have been trying it to see how my scalp will react after using the product for sometime. I also bought a hairfood called T444Z which also helps with the itchiness of the scalp, hair thinning, eczema and other scalp issues. I am hoping that with these products i might be able to overcome this problem otherwise this will mean going to the dermatologist!

Have you used these products before or do you know of any products that can help witg this problem?

DESIGN MAKE UP for sale at Edgars

I went  to Riverside mall Edgars and i realised that they had make up on sale!!I checked the brand and i wasnt familiar with it. You know how it is when you not familiar with a particular brand and you sort of sceptical!! Whats nice with it is they have a sample for you to test the lipsticks and see if you like the texture and the pigment! So they put all those things in the entrance and i just tested and went into the shop and went on with my shopping. An hour later, i realised that, i still had that pigment from the lipsticks that i tested and i was quite so happy with that. The following day i went to Ilanga Mall because i couldnt find what i was looking for at Riverside so i made it a point to go to Edgars again and check out this Design Make up! I bought the eyeshadows, pressed powder, the chubby stick and lipsticks! The quality of the make up was quite impressive i mean for the price that i paid, i was like wow!! If you are starting with make up and you just dont know where to start, i think, this is a pretty good place because its cheap and the quality is amazing. They also had nail polishes, eye pencils , lip liners, foundations etc!

This is how much i bought my items for :
12 Eyeshadow pallette R52.95
Compact powder R32.95
Lipstick R11.95

L'O REAL AGE PERFECT EXTRAORDINARY FACIAL OIL

You know when you apply your moisturiser and afterward you feel like something is just missing? Maybe it doesnt have enough oil or something because your skin still feels so dry afterwards, thats how i was starting to feel and my skin was also getting a little bit tight after cleansing and toning! Then i got this oil from Beauty Bulletin, it was right on time. Its the L'oreal age perfect extraordinary oil, its a facial oil! It comes out in a 30ml bottle which is enough to fit in my hand and in the middle you actually apply the oil with the medicine dropper which is attached to the lid. They say its age perfect because from your 30's upward you can start to lose the glow that you had on your skin due to aging, enviromental factors or other reasons, so this oil will definitely help there.

The facial oil contains 8 essential oils which are, Lavender, Marjoram, Rosemary, Geranium, Rose, Chamomile, Orange, and Lavandin. It smells fresh and very nice! The smell that stood out for me was Rose and Geranium, but everyone is different! The facial oil promises to Nourish, revitalise and illuminate your skin. It further says that day after day your skin will regain tone and the features are smoothed and rested.

MY EXPERIENCE

So after using the oil for 3 weeks i think i have a good idea of what its like. I have only been applying it at night and not during the day. Because of the medicine dropper applicator, you can control how much you want to apply it and it is also not  greasy! I applied the oil after the serum just before my night cream or moisturiser. After the application, my skin felt soft and supple and not so dry anymore. After applying it for a couple of days the dryness i had dissapeared and my skin feels better therefore. I think if i continue to apply the oil i will notice also the difference in my skin tone.
You can buy this product at any of the leading pharmacies Clicks, Dischem ect and it retails between R240-R260!

NYX BOHEMIAN CHIC PALLETTE

I was so excited to learn that NYX has a pallette that can be just suitable for someone who is starting to use make up. I am always hunting for matte eyeshadows because they dont shine after you apply them and they blend in so nicely with your skin. NYX, which is a brand that you can buy at Clicks stores, has released a pallette that contains 24 perfect Nude matte eyeshadows and 2 gorgeous blushes! I was so excited because although i am not a beginner, you can be able to do different looks with the pallette, even a smokey eye and the best thing is you dont even have to buy a blusher!! The bottom colors are more pigmented for darker skin and they consists of greens and purple and black, perfect colors!! If you have a pallette like that as a beginner, it can really go a long way and also even if you are not a beginner, its always good to add nude shadows to your collection for those days when you need to apply minimal make up! I bought that pallette for only R199,99, which i thought was not too bad considering that NYX is a good quality make up brand and what they were offering was good! Have you tried NYX products before?
